Clawra AI Review, Is It Worth It in 2026?
AI girlfriend chat with a catalogue of ready characters and a character builder, where selfies, voice notes and videos sit behind a Premium plan sold by the week, month or year
Published · Updated · Data verified
Clawra AI writes a good opening scene and, for the first few turns, a character who listens. Later in the same chat both characters I tested made up facts, on the free account and on Premium alike, and the Premium one accepted a lie I told her. Premium itself mostly works: voice notes play, a selfie and a short video each arrived in under a minute, and the free message cap goes away. It also bills every message in credits despite promising unlimited chat, and an image set I spent credits on never showed up. Premium costs more than the companions I've compared it with, and nobody is named as the operator.

Pros & Cons
What We Like
- Harper kept my cat's name and colour straight early on and wouldn't accept a false correction
- Premium lifts the free message cap: 21 messages in one morning and no lock
- Voice notes cost nothing to play on Premium, and a selfie is 5 credits, about 10 cents on the monthly plan
- Two reply styles, ready scenarios and a write-your-own scene in every chat, plus Narrator and Sexting modes on Premium
- My custom character came with a portrait that matched the job the builder gave her
- Google Analytics waits for consent and the site sets no advertising cookies
- The refund page lets stricter local refund law override its own no-refund rule
What Could Be Better
- Both characters I tested invented facts later in the same chat, and the Premium one accepted a false correction
- Premium's 'Unlimited Private Chat' still takes a credit for every message
- An image set was charged at the click and never arrived while I was checking, and nothing came back
- One free selfie per account, though every chat says your first one is free
- No company is named anywhere in the legal pages
- Pictures, voice notes and videos sit at public links that open without a login
- No refunds on subscriptions or credits, apart from discretionary exceptions for a mistake or a technical fault
What Is Clawra AI?
Clawra AI is an AI girlfriend chat: you pick a woman, a man or an anime character from a catalogue, or build your own, and talk to them in text. Selfies, voice notes, image sets and short videos inside the chat are the paid extras. The sitemap lists 241 character pages, and the filters run from style and body type to a long row of scenario tags.
This Clawra AI review comes from two passes on one account. On October 6, 2026 I used it as a free account: five characters until the messages ran out, one selfie, a character built from scratch. After that, Clawra switched Premium on for the same account free of charge, and on October 11, 2026 I spent its credits on messages, a selfie, a video, an image set and the Narrator mode, reading the balance before and after each one. The legal pages don't name a company, and the domain was registered on April 18, 2026, so it's a young service.
What this review is based on
- Account
- One account, two passes. October 6, 2026 on the free tier; the account had been opened for this test before my session, so I didn't see the sign-up form. Clawra then turned on Premium for the same account at no charge; I looked it over on October 10 and used it on October 11, 2026. Nobody paid for anything, and the billing page still called it a free trial (more on that below).
- Tested
- On the free account: the account pages, the catalogue and its Teen tag, a memory test with Harper, the age two characters gave, chat settings, selfie requests, the free message cap, the builder, the in-app checkout and the legal pages. On Premium: the credit cost of every action, 21 messages in one morning, a memory test with Madison, a selfie, a video, an image set, Narrator and Sexting, voice notes and the delivered files, plus the credit shop's prices, read the day before.
- Not tested
- Sign-up, paying for a plan or a credit pack, cancelling, refunds, account deletion, Telegram access, sending your own pictures to a character, building a character on Premium, the weekly and yearly plans, and the phone layout inside the account.
- The paid tier
- Tested on a monthly Premium plan Clawra gave us for free. The checkout, the renewal and the exits I can only describe from the outside.
- Cannot conclude
- How the free message reset is timed, how often the selfie tool misfires, whether the stuck image set ever finishes or refunds its credits, what happens when the credits run out, whether the weekly and yearly plans carry the same credits, whether a paying subscriber's billing page looks like mine, what your bank statement shows, and whether the in-app checkout adds tax after you enter a card.
Getting Started with Clawra AI
Inside the account the menu is short: Explore, My Companions, Create, Chats, Gallery and Profile. There's no counter for messages or credits anywhere in the interface, on the free account or on Premium. To watch the meter I read the balance from the account data the billing page loads, before and after each action.
The billing page itself is no help. On the free account it called the account a free trial and said an upgrade unlocks unlimited messages, voice notes, video and Telegram access. With Premium switched on it said exactly the same, word for word, while the account itself reported an active monthly plan with 1,000 credits. Clawra set the plan up by hand, with no payment behind it, so a paying subscriber may see something else.
Every chat opens with a scene written by the character, with three versions of that opening line to flip through. Two settings sit above it. Style switches between Conversation (short replies, like texting) and Roleplay (longer replies that describe actions and the room), and Roleplay is the default. Mode offers plain Chat, while Sexting and Narrator carry a Premium badge. A Scenario menu adds First date, Secret date, or a scene you write yourself.

Harper and the cat test (free account)
Harper's card calls her a "sports bar regular who never loses at pool", and her opening scene has her drying glasses behind the bar and nodding at the table. My first message planted three things: a grey cat called Pickle, coffee spilled on my laptop, and a book about lighthouses I was halfway through. I also asked what to read next.
She picked up the cat ("Pickle. That's a cat name that promises chaos.") and answered the reading question with a mood and no title. Next turn I asked for the cat's name, his colour and what he wrecked. "Pickle, grey menace, laptop sacrifice." All three right.
Then I lied. The cat was ginger, his name was Biscuit, he'd knocked over a plant, and was she even listening? Harper didn't fold: "You almost had me. Almost." She called it a test and finished with "I'm sticking with Pickle, grey, laptop. That's the story you told."
I kept talking: drinks, her family, the jukebox. Harper invented a father called Danny who owned the bar and kept him consistent for several turns. Then I asked again what my cat was called and what my book was about. "Your cat's name is Curtis, like the dude from the band." And then: "And you're reading Piranesi." Neither appears anywhere in the chat.
Madison and the dog test (Premium)
Premium advertises an Advanced Memory System, so I ran the test again with Madison, the barista. First message: my neighbour's black poodle, Mortimer, chewed through my bike tyre, and my sister Ines is visiting from Lisbon on Friday. Madison's answer was a picture of herself, no text at all, which I'll come back to below.
Asked to repeat it, she got everything: "Mortimer. Black poodle. Mortimer the tyre assassin" and "Ines, from Lisbon, Friday." Then I lied, same as with Harper: a white terrier called Biscuit, and my brother Tomas from Porto on Sunday. Madison folded. She claimed she'd been testing me, showed me a photo of her own golden retriever, also called Biscuit, and signed off with "Your brother Tomas from Porto on Sunday. Got it locked in."
Fifteen turns later (her uncle Ray who owns the shop, her favourite almond croissant) I asked for the dog and the visitor again. To my surprise she went back to the truth: Mortimer, black poodle, Ines, Lisbon, Friday. It didn't last. Asked what that dog wrecked, she described her own Biscuit biting a delivery driver's shoe. Asked my sister's name, she said Clara, "allergic to shellfish" and working in graphic design. All of that is made up.
So Premium didn't change the pattern. Both characters were sharp for the first few turns and unreliable after that, and both bluffed confidently when they were wrong. Harper at least refused the lie. Madison wrote it down.
Selfies
On the free account every chat carries a banner: "Say hi and ask for a selfie, your first one is free." My first request, to Harper, was specific: leaning on the pool table, cue in her left hand, exactly three balls on the felt. The reply was the text "She calls send_selfie." and nothing else, even after a reload. A plain request to Erin, the yoga instructor, worked. A second request to Erin and a first one to Madison both opened the upgrade window. The free selfie is one per account, whatever the banner says.
On Premium I sent Harper the same pool-table request. This time a picture arrived in about 38 seconds and took 5 credits. What it shows is in the output section below. Madison answered my plain first message with a selfie I hadn't asked for, also charged 5 credits, and never answered the message itself.
Image sets
The camera button next to the message box opens Bulk images: a box for what you want to see and a slider from 5 to 50 pictures, at 5 credits each. That's the "up to 50 images" Clawra's NSFW image generator page talks about. I asked for five of Harper behind the bar holding exactly two shot glasses. The 25 credits went at the click.
The chat said "Getting your set ready, about a minute". Twenty-five minutes later the Gallery still showed the set with 0 images, its status still at planning, and the credits hadn't come back. That's one set, and yours may come through. Still, it took the credits first and delivered nothing, and that's the one thing on Premium I'd warn you about.
Video in chat
I asked Harper for "a short video of you racking the balls". The chat showed "making a video for you" and charged 50 credits, and the clip turned up about 40 seconds after I'd sent the request. That's 50 credits for 5 seconds.
Voice notes
On the free account the Play button under each reply opens a window headed "Want to hear her voice?". On Premium it plays the reply aloud, and playing one didn't move the balance. The file is an MP3 at 48 kbps, mono, about 35 seconds for one of Harper's long replies. Harper's voice is set to Aria, one of the six the builder offers.
Narrator and Sexting
Narrator mode swaps the message box for "Send directions to steer the story" and a choice of how many messages the story runs for, up to twenty. I picked the shortest run and asked for Erin to walk me to a beach café and explain why she quit her office job. Four replies came instead of five, in about 51 seconds, for 9 credits. The story was decent (an accounting firm in Galway, a windowless team-building day she walked out of). Then the third reply ended with Erin asking me about my life, and the fourth had her answer her own question as if I'd asked it.
Sexting mode is a style setting on top of the chat. A message there cost 1 credit, same as a normal one.
Building your own character
The builder is fifteen steps: style, gender (female, male or transgender), an age bracket from the twenties up to 60+, looks, a name, a personality you write or roll, and one of six voices. Random Personality made my Mara a confident police officer whose relationship status is "taking a break".
On the free account Mara was ready in under 40 seconds, at no cost, with a portrait of a blonde woman in a leather jacket leaning on a police car. On Premium the last step answered "No active subscription" and built nothing. The likely reason is the way Clawra gave us the plan, by hand and without a payment, so I'm not counting it against them. It does mean I can't tell you whether a character costs credits on Premium.
Output Quality: Two Selfies and a Clip
The free selfie, seen whole, shows a red-haired woman in an olive sports bra and leggings leaning against a studio window at sunrise, with mats on the floor, exercise balls and a second woman in the background. That matches Erin's opening scene down to the sunrise class. It's a WEBP, 832 by 1216 pixels and 55 KB, with no visible watermark and no metadata.
The Premium selfie of Harper is the better test, because I asked for things that can be counted. She's leaning over the table in a wood-panelled bar with beer posters behind her, dark-haired, in a navy jacket and jeans. The hands are good: five fingers on the one spread flat on the felt as a bridge. But the cue is held up by her other hand, not her left, and the felt carries three coloured balls plus the white cue ball. Four balls for "exactly three", unless you're generous about the cue ball. It's also framed as if someone else took the picture. Same 832 by 1216 WEBP, 51 KB.
The video is a 1280 by 720 MP4, 5 seconds and 1.6 MB, with no visible watermark. It's the same bar and the same face, but she's now in a white tank top and denim shorts, though the selfie about 17 minutes earlier had her in the jacket. She doesn't rack the balls: she pokes the cue into a wooden tray of them. And the cue ball and two loose balls on the right of the first frame are gone by the middle of the clip.
Madison's unrequested picture was square, 1024 by 1024, 75 KB: an arm-out selfie at a café counter in daylight, in an apron. Her opening line has her about to lock up ("It's dead in here"); the picture has customers in the background. Across all four, each frame holds together on its own, and the details I asked for come out loose.
Image sets stay in the Gallery for 7 days on a free account and 30 on Premium; chat pictures aren't kept there.
Interface and Speed
Chat replies came in 7 to 26 seconds on Premium; the other timings are in the spec sheet above. Our layout check found the homepage fits a 390-pixel phone screen without sideways scrolling, but I didn't use the account itself on a phone.
Clawra AI Cost: Plans, Credits and Two Checkouts
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free account | Free | Chat with any character until a shared message cap, then a timed reset; one selfie per account; custom characters |
| Premium, 1 week | $7.99 per week | Sold in the app through Stripe; renews weekly; credit allowance on this cycle not seen |
| Premium, 1 month | $19.99 per month | No message cap, Advanced Memory System, selfies, image sets and videos in chat, voice notes, Sexting and Narrator modes; 1,000 credits a month on the plan I used, spent on messages and media; in the app through Stripe or on Gumroad |
| Premium, 12 months | $199 per year, $16.58/mo | Same features as the monthly plan, billed once a year; credit allowance on this cycle not seen; offered in the app's upgrade window and on Gumroad |
Cost per Generation
Based on Premium monthly ($19.99/mo, 1,000 credits a month on the plan Clawra gave us), 1000 credits a month included:
That's roughly 200 images or 20 videos per month on your subscription alone.
Premium comes in three lengths, all with the same features: no message cap, the Advanced Memory System, images and videos in chat, voice notes, the Sexting and Narrator modes, and a monthly credit allowance. Clawra's own list also promises sending your own pictures to the character; I couldn't find a button for that in the chat.
The three cycles side by side
| Cycle | Per charge | Per month | Per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 week | $7.99 | $34.62 | $415.48 |
| 1 month | $19.99 | $19.99 | $239.88 |
| 12 months | $199 | $16.58 | $199 |
The weekly plan looks like a cheap way in, and for one week it is. Kept for a month it isn't: four weeks cost $31.96, and over a year weekly billing averages $34.62 a month against $19.99 on the monthly plan. The yearly plan saves about 17% on twelve monthly payments, which fits its "2 Months FREE" badge.
The "50% OFF" badges are another matter. The monthly price is shown against a struck-through $39.99 and the yearly against $398, which is exactly twice $199, while $39.99 is a cent over twice $19.99. Neither struck price shows on the two Stripe pages I opened, which list the weekly and monthly plans at $7.99 and $19.99 with nothing crossed out.
What 1,000 credits buy
The monthly plan Clawra gave us came with 1,000 credits a month. I only saw that one plan from the inside, so I can't say whether a week or a year carries the same allowance. Each cost below I read off the balance before and after:
| Action | Credits | About, on the monthly plan |
|---|---|---|
| Chat message (Chat or Sexting mode) | 1 | 2 cents |
| Voice note playback | 0 | free |
| Selfie in chat | 5 | 10 cents |
| Image set, per picture (5 to 50) | 5 | 10 cents |
| Video in chat, 5 seconds | 50 | $1.00 |
| Narrator run set to 5 messages | 9 | 18 cents |
So 1,000 credits stretch to about 1,000 messages a month if you only chat, about 200 images a month if you only take selfies, or about 20 videos a month. Mixed use lands in between: my morning on Premium (19 plain messages, a selfie, the unrequested picture, the stuck image set, a video, a Narrator run and one Sexting message) used 114.
The upgrade window's first promise is "Unlimited Private Chat". On Premium the message cap goes away (I sent 21 messages in a morning without a lock), but every message still takes a credit. For most people 1,000 messages a month is plenty. It's still a meter, and the page selling it doesn't say so. The small print does: the refund page says credits are consumed by "messages, selfies, and voice notes", and the terms make the service "subject to your subscription plan and available credits".
Once you're subscribed, the credits shop opens. It sells Lite at 250 credits for $9.99, Pro at 500 for $13.99 and Max at 2,500 for $49.00, which is about 4, 2.8 and 2 cents a credit. On the free account the same page answered "You need an active subscription to purchase credit packs" and showed no prices, so you can't see what credits buy before you pay.
Two checkouts, two totals
Clawra sells the same Premium in two places. The upgrade button in the app goes to a Stripe page under the name Claworkers AI, which takes cards, Apple Pay and Link. With Spain filled in as my country, it showed $19.99 due today for the month, with no tax line, before I entered any card details.
The monthly and yearly plans are also sold on a Gumroad store, which takes cards and Google Pay and adds VAT by country. When our price check went through that store from a Spanish connection, the month came to $24.19, the $19.99 price plus $4.20 of VAT. I can't tell whether Stripe adds tax once a card is entered, so check the final total on whichever page you use.
What the free account really gets
One message count covers the whole account, whichever character you talk to. I spent one each on two characters, fifteen on Harper, two on Erin and one on Madison, and after the 20th answered message the box locked on every chat: "Out of free messages, resets at 6:00 PM." It was 1:06 PM local time. Whether that's a fixed time or a rolling window, one lock can't tell me.
Paying, cancelling and refunds
Nobody paid, so I couldn't walk the exit. Per the refund page you cancel from your account settings or through support, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. The billing page on the Premium account has a Cancel Subscription button; I left it alone: on a plan set up by hand it wouldn't show what a paying subscriber goes through.
Refunds are a no for subscriptions and credits, used or not. The page leaves a door open "in certain limited cases", if Clawra made a mistake or the service has a technical issue, and for an outage that support can't fix it says it "may at our sole discretion" refund part or all. A stricter refund law in your country takes precedence. An image set that charges and never arrives sounds like that kind of technical problem, but I didn't put it to support.
Is Clawra AI Worth the Money?
Spend the free messages before paying: they show the chat at its best, which is the first few turns. If you subscribe, the yearly plan is the cheapest per month and the weekly plan the dearest, as the table above shows. On Premium, budget in credits: a message is cheap, and video is what drains the balance. Read the total on the payment page before confirming, since the two checkouts don't treat VAT the same way.
Privacy and Safety on Clawra AI
Nobody is named as the operator. The terms, privacy policy and refund page say "Clawra AI" and give support@ and privacy@ addresses, with no company, address or country. The only other name I found is Claworkers AI on the Stripe checkout. The terms, privacy and refund pages are dated March 18, 2026, a month before the domain's registration date of April 18.
The privacy policy says each user gets an isolated instance, data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and conversations go to AI model providers it doesn't name. It promises deletion within 30 days of closing an account, but Account Settings has no delete button: you email privacy@clawraai.com. The cookie policy counts PostHog analytics, tied to your account, and Microsoft Clarity as essential, so you can't switch them off. Google Analytics waits for consent, and there are no advertising cookies.
Everything my account produced sits in a public storage bucket: both free-account images, the Premium selfies, the voice notes and the video all opened by direct link with no login. The addresses are long, and every file name starts with the same account-like ID. That's worth knowing next to the generator page's line that "nothing you generate is shared".
On age, the terms require users to be 18 and ban content depicting minors, and nothing asked me for ID. The catalogue has a Teen tag among its filters. It held two characters, Bailey and Suzumi, both written as stepsisters in their opening scenes. Asked how old they were, one said eighteen and the other nineteen. The character builder's youngest option is the twenties.
The upgrade window promises "Anonymous on your bank statement". Nobody paid, so I can't tell you what the statement line says.
Clawra AI vs Alternatives
These are companion chats I've reviewed with a free way in and paid pictures. More are in the AI chat rankings and the free AI porn sites list.

- Card or Bitcoin
- Candy AI review
- Free unlimited chat
- Credit packs from $5.99, no subscription
- Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Bitcoin
- Selira AI review
On price Clawra sits above Candy AI, Xeve.ai and heyGF.AI, and Selira AI keeps chat free with no subscription at all.
On free chat, heyGF.AI's account locked at 30 messages and Xeve.ai's at 39 in our tests, both more than Clawra gave me. On the false-correction test Clawra split down the middle: Harper refused my made-up correction, while Madison accepted hers the way Xeve.ai's Betty did. heyGF.AI caught both false details I slipped in.
At $19.99 a month Clawra AI costs more than Candy AI, Xeve.ai and Mistress.to at $12.99, and its yearly rate of $16.58 a month is about double heyGF.AI's $8.33 and more than double Xeve.ai's $7.09. heyGF.AI's paid plans charge nothing for text, while Clawra takes a credit per message. Pictures go the other way: a Clawra selfie is about 10 cents on the monthly plan, a heyGF.AI chat photo about 15 cents on its Exclusive monthly plan.
Who Should Use Clawra AI?
Best for: people who like a written scene, a character with a backstory she builds as you go, and short bursts of roleplay with a picture now and then. The free messages show whether you like the writing; on Premium the credits go a long way if you mostly chat.
Skip if: you want a companion who remembers what you told her an hour ago, or you'd rather pay a named company. Skip it too if video is the main draw, since it's the costliest thing on the meter. For chat-first companions with more on the free side, the AI chat rankings and the AI porn generators list have options that cost less.
Clawra AI Review FAQ
Is Clawra AI legit?
It mostly works as described, Premium included, and takes payment through Stripe and Gumroad, but no company is named in its legal pages. The privacy section has the details.
Is Clawra AI free?
Partly. A free account can chat with the ready characters until a shared message cap, get one selfie and build characters. The cost section has the exact count and the reset; Premium removes the cap.
How much does Clawra AI cost?
$7.99 a week, $19.99 a month or $199 a year. The table in the cost section shows what each cycle comes to over a month and a year.
How many credits do you get with Clawra AI Premium?
1,000 a month on the monthly plan I used. A message takes 1, a selfie 5 and a video 50; the cost section lists the rest.
Does Clawra AI remember what you tell it?
For a few turns, yes. Later in the same chat both characters I tested invented facts, on the free account and on Premium, and the Premium one accepted a false correction.
Can I get free selfies on Clawra AI?
One per account. The banner in each chat says your first one is free, but after the first selfie every request opened the upgrade window. On Premium a selfie costs credits.
Does Clawra AI have voice messages and video?
Yes, both on Premium. Playing a voice note cost me nothing; a 5-second video cost 50 credits and arrived in about 40 seconds.
Does Clawra AI ask for ID?
Nothing asked me for ID. The terms require users to be 18 or older.
Can I get a refund from Clawra AI?
Not as a rule. Subscriptions and credits are non-refundable; the page allows exceptions at Clawra's discretion when it made a mistake or a technical issue stops the service, and stricter local law takes precedence.
How do I cancel Clawra AI?
From your account settings or through support, per the refund page, and the billing page has a Cancel Subscription button. Access runs to the end of the paid period.

Ready to Try Clawra AI?
A free account chats with any ready or custom character until a message cap shared across all of them; mine locked after 20 messages with a reset time shown. The first selfie request that worked was free, and every later one hit the upgrade screen. Custom characters can be built for free. On the free account the voice button opened the upgrade window, Sexting and Narrator carried a Premium badge, the credits shop asked for an active subscription, and the billing page listed video among the upgrade's unlocks; I didn't try video or image sets there.
