How We Rate AI Porn Tools
Every tool on AI Porn Expert gets the same treatment: I sign up, pay with my own money, and test it like a real user. Then I give it three scores. No hidden formulas, no 100-point checklists — just honest expert ratings you can understand in five seconds.
The 3 Scores
Every review shows exactly three ratings, each from 1 to 10. No sub-scores, no point breakdowns — just my expert assessment after hands-on testing. Below each score you'll see short bullets explaining why I gave that number.
🎨 Quality — "How well does it deliver?"
This is the big one — half your overall score comes from here. I rate how well the tool does what it promises. An image generator is judged on image quality. A chat companion — on conversation depth. A hybrid platform — on everything it claims to offer.
What I look at:
- Output quality — resolution, detail, consistency, artifacts
- Feature depth — does each feature actually work well, or is it checkbox filler?
- Content variety — styles, customization options, creative range
- Unique strengths — anything this tool does better than everyone else
- Weak spots — features that exist on paper but disappoint in practice
💰 Value — "Is it worth the money?"
Great output means nothing if the pricing is predatory. I rate the overall deal — can you try it for free, is the paid plan fair, and does the tool deliver enough per dollar?
What I look at:
- Free tier — does it exist? Is it useful or just a teaser?
- Monthly price — competitive for what you get?
- Tokens per dollar — how many generations/messages for your money?
- Pricing transparency — all costs visible upfront? Hidden upsells?
- Payment options — crypto, discreet billing, PayPal (matters in this niche)
- Paywall frustration — are basic features locked behind expensive tiers?
🛡️ Trust — "Is it safe to use?"
In this niche, privacy isn't a nice-to-have — it's essential. I rate how well the platform protects you: your identity, your payment info, and your data.
What I look at:
- ID verification — no KYC is always better
- Billing discretion — discreet statement name? Crypto option?
- Data privacy — GDPR compliance, data deletion, no invasive tracking
- Platform stability — established company, user count, domain age
- Transparency — clear terms of service, refund policy
Overall Score Formula
The three scores combine into one overall rating using a simple weighted average:
Overall = Quality × 0.5 + Value × 0.3 + Trust × 0.2
Quality carries the most weight because that's why you're here — the tool needs to actually deliver. Value comes next because even great tools fail if they nickel-and-dime you. Trust rounds it out because everything else is pointless if the platform isn't safe to use.
The formula is the same for every tool type — generators, companions, hybrids, deepfakes. What changes is what Quality means for each type (more on that below).
Rating Tiers
The overall score maps to a tier label you'll see on every review:
Different Tool Types, Same Standards
AI porn tools come in different flavors. The same three scores apply to all of them — but what "Quality" means depends on what the tool is trying to be:
🖼️ Generators
Pure image and video creation tools. Quality is judged on output resolution, style variety, prompt control, and generation consistency. A generator doesn't need chat or memory — it needs to produce great visuals fast.
💬 Companions
AI girlfriend/boyfriend apps focused on conversation. Quality is judged on chat depth, personality consistency, memory, voice quality, and emotional engagement. Image generation is a bonus, not the core.
🔄 Hybrid Platforms
Tools that do multiple things — generation, chat, video, stories. Quality is judged on how well each feature actually works. Breadth is nice, but a tool that does 5 things poorly scores lower than one that does 2 things brilliantly.
🎭 Deepfake Tools
Face swap and video manipulation. Quality is judged on accuracy, realism, video stability, and source compatibility.
This means a best-in-class generator and a best-in-class companion can both score 9+ for Quality — they're measured against their own category's standard, not against each other.
Our Review Process
Every review follows the same process:
- Sign up & pay. I create a real account on every platform. If there's a free tier, I test that first. Then I buy the most popular paid plan with my own money.
- Hands-on testing. I spend multiple sessions using the tool as a real user would — generating images, testing chat, pushing the limits of what's allowed. No API-only reviews, no screenshots from press kits.
- Rate the 3 scores. Each score is based on what I observed during testing. No partial credit for "coming soon" features — it either works today or it doesn't. I write short bullets explaining each score.
- Write the review. I combine my hands-on experience with the scores to write an honest review. Scores anchor the review, but the text adds context you can't get from numbers alone.
- Publish & monitor. Reviews go live with full score breakdowns. I re-test periodically and update scores when platforms release major changes.
Score Updates & Transparency
AI tools change fast. A platform that was mediocre 6 months ago might be great today — or vice versa. Here's how I handle that:
- Re-testing: Major platform updates trigger a score re-evaluation. I don't wait for a schedule — when something changes, I re-test.
- No pay-to-play: Some tools on this site have affiliate links. That means I may earn a commission if you sign up through my link. It never affects the score. Tools with affiliate links are held to the same standard as everything else.
- Score explanations are public: Every review shows the three scores with bullet-point explanations. You can see exactly why a tool got the rating it did.
If you think a score is wrong or a tool has changed, let me know. I'd rather update a review than leave outdated information up.
